What is Spectrum? Simply put, it is radio waves. Different frequencies have different properties that offer advantages for various uses. When DISH made the decision to build a wireless network to connect people and things, acquiring spectrum was the first of many steps. Our vision for a completely new network that could power innovation needs a portfolio that is balanced, comprehensive and powerful. Every purchase is made with the goal of covering the entire nation with diverse frequency bands and serving enterprises and customers with the right resources.

We made our first Spectrum acquisition in 1998.
